Nature’s Flame wood pellet production

With the assistance of the BPA, forestry processing company Nature’s Flame worked with Scion to produce wood pellets from forestry by-products.

Taupō-based Nature’s Flame is now the country’s largest wood pellet manufacturer and its product is recognised as a reliable, renewable energy resource, made from sustainable wood fibre residues from the surrounding areas.

It supplies Fonterra with wood pellets for one of its boilers (with another to convert shortly), replacing coal in the milk production process.
