
The Bioresource Processing Alliance (BPA) has appointed TC Chadderton, Science Group Leader (Health & Consumer Sciences) at Bioeconomy Science Institute (BSI), Plant & Food Research Group.
TC succeeds principal scientist Sue Marshall, who retired from the Board last month after a decade of service. She was a foundation member of the BPA’s Science Leadership Group and was recently named as one of new Ngā Ahurei a Te Apārangi Fellows elected to the Academy of the Royal Society Te Apārangi.
In his role at BSI: Plant & Food Research Group, TC is responsible for leading a group of 35 science staff working in a wide range of areas, including: human behavioural insights; food dietary intervention studies; chemosensory systems research; food consumer sensory responses; digestive physiology; cognitive function; and exercise nutrition.
In his role as a BPA Board member, he brings expertise in developing business unit strategy, overseeing R&D project procurement and delivery, developing strategic collaborations and partnerships and securing capital investment in equipment and facilities.
During his decade-long career with Plant & Food Research, TC spent four years in California as business development lead for the US/Americas. He has also held roles as operations manager, research team leader and research engineer.
